Mercedes C-Class AMG - Enhanced Correction Detail

Our client brought us this vehicle that he had recently bought from new.

However he was very disappointed with the paint finish, there were fine to medium scratches on the bonnet, roof, boot lid and both front wings, as well as swirls and holograms on the side panels.

Our first job was to wash the vehicle – we started with the wheels, applying a good quality alloy cleaner, allowing it time to do its job before gently agitating it with our wheel brushes. We then pressure washed off the area to include the wheel arches before turning to the body. This was done using the two bucket method, starting from the roof and working our way down to the waist – we applied a mild cleaner to the lower half of the body to loosen any grit/dirt before using our mitts. After an inspection we noticed a lot of tar on the lower panels. This was removed and then washed again. Prior to taking the car inside it was clayed (Including the windows) rewashed and dried using good quality cloths and a water dispersant.

Once inside we masked up all the required areas and took paint thickness measurements – loads of paint on here.

Starting with the offside front wing we had to wet flat the scratches – following on to the bonnet, nearside front wing, roof and especially the boot lid. Next was a heavy pad and compound to cut through the flatted areas, once this was done the pad was changed to a medium and all the painted surfaces were machined. We spent a total of 14 hours on the paintwork before inspecting it closely. We were satisfied.

We applied 2 coats of Raceglaze 55 which really brought out the depth of colour in the paint.

After removing all the masking the car was taken back outside and washed again to remove dust and debris from the shuts etc. After drying we applied a good coat of Rimwax to the wheels. The interior was hoovered, windows cleaned – Finished.
